  INTRODUCTION Before the emergence of United Pentecostal Church in North East India, there was a revival which was carried on by the Wales Missionaries. Especially in Mizoram, the revival has been taking place approximately around five times, which led to the outbreak of the true Pentecostal Revival, speaking tongues like the Day of Pentecost. In this paper we shall deal with those revival and the results of revival will be concluded by the emergence of UPC in North East India.   1.       PENTECOSTAL MOVEMENT IN MIZORAM 1.1. FIRST REVIVAL: The Pentecostal Revival was happen in Azusa Street in January 1 st 1901, the Wales Revival followed in the year 1904. Whereas the Bible holiness laid stress on the inward holiness. Being a follower of Jesus Christ, we are expected to be holy in every way. Lev. 19:2 says, “You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.” Regarding holiness there can be many topics under it, in this paper we shall deal with the meaning of the term, nature and purpose of Holiness in brief. DEFINITION According to Harpers’ Collins Bible Dictionary a term Holiness in Hebrew probably meaning separate from the ordinary or profane. Also in Hebrew and in Greek "holy" implies connection with God or the divine. Thus, God is holy and people, things, and actions may be holy by association with God. INTRODUCTION: The Church is a spiritual body of Christ. Christ has come to this world with a mission. After having finished His mission on earth, He entrusted that mission or responsibility to the Church. Therefore, the Church is here on this earth to accomplish this task. That is why it is of utmost importance that every church professing loyalty to Jesus Christ be a soul-winning church. Winning souls in itself, however, is not quite enough. True commitment to Christ carries with it a simultaneous commitment to the body of Christ. Jesus' Great Commission tells us to go and make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19, 20). Disciples are those who accept Christ, who are baptized, and who continue as responsible members of a local church. When this biblical principle is clearly seen and acted upon, a soul winning church will also be a growing church.
